U.S. Route 66, also known as the Will Rogers Highway and colloquially known as the Main Street of America or the Mother Road, was one of the original highways within the U.S. Highway System. Route 66 was established on November 11, 1926. Therefore this year the Mother Road celebrates its 90th birthday.-Perryn Peterson Mayor of Mieville
This month Mieville is celebrating its Route 66 event. It covers a lot of space with roadside diners, carnival rides and beautiful Southwestern American landscapes. Stores line the dusty well worn highways. You can even get shiny classic cars to cruise the roads. Don't forget to pick up the Mieville Postcards and do the mini hunt!
The Route 66 Event Runs from July 23 to August 14th.
